Meet Happy Little Mother: The Brand I Can't Stop Wearing
I have to tell you about a brand I have been personally obsessed with for weeks now. Happy Little Mother has made its way into my own closet, and I could not wait any longer to talk about it!
Who Is Happy Little Mother?
Happy Little Mother is the creation of Aspen Luzier, an entrepreneur, mental health advocate, model, and mother. She lives in the Franklin, Tennessee area, just outside Nashville, with her husband, Korn drummer Ray Luzier, and their two sons, after relocating from Los Angeles over a decade ago. Her story is not the typical fashion brand origin story, and honestly, that is exactly why this brand feels different from everything else on the shelf right now.
Before Happy Little Mother existed, Aspen started a nonprofit in 2018 called Rebel For A Change, built around supporting someone she loved through addiction. That work, rooted in care and community, laid the groundwork for the kind of brand she would eventually build. During the early days of the pandemic, she started tie-dyeing at home and stitching "MOTHER" bandannas with her kids, a small, personal project that had nothing to do with building a business and everything to do with creating something meaningful in a hard season.
That project became something bigger. A hand-stamped "Mother" tag necklace launched on Mother's Day 2020, and from there, Happy Little Mother grew into a full lifestyle brand, sold online and through a retro pop-up truck that has become part of the brand's identity. What started as a craft project between a mother and her kids turned into a brand that speaks to motherhood the way it actually feels, messy, funny, tender, and worth celebrating.
That thread runs through everything Happy Little Mother makes. This is a brand built around the idea that motherhood does not erase who you are, it reveals her again. Every piece feels like it comes from someone who has actually lived it, not a brand chasing a trend.
If you have already seen this brand somewhere and could not remember the name, there is a good chance what stuck with you was the patch. The Sorry Mom heart, a small red heart chain-stitched with the words "Sorry Mom," has become the brand's signature, showing up across nearly every piece in the collection. It is equal parts confession and love letter, a nod to every mother who has held it down no matter what her kids put her through to get there. Once you know to look for it, you will start spotting it everywhere.
The Pieces I Bought For Myself

I did not set out to write a review, I just bought a few pieces because I genuinely wanted them, and now I cannot stop reaching for them.
The Sorry Mom Leopard Joggers were the first thing I grabbed, and I have to be honest, they run long. Very long. I debated it for a minute and then decided to crop mine, and I am so glad I did. If you want to see exactly how that turned out, including the moment I asked myself "did I just ruin a $150 pair of pants," I filmed the whole thing. [Watch the video here.]

Cropped, these joggers hit at the perfect length, relaxed through the leg with just enough break at the ankle to show off your favorite sneakers, and honestly, I love them even more this way than I think I would have loved them at full length. Soft, structured french terry, the brand's signature leopard print, and that same Sorry Mom heart patch stitched on the hip. These have genuinely become one of my most worn pieces this season.
I paired them with the leopard Sorry Mom Tee for a full matching set, and that combination might be my favorite thing I have styled all year. The tee carries the Sorry Mom patch on the front and a large Happy Little Mother logo patch across the back, the kind of piece that says something true without you having to explain it to anyone.

I did not stop there. (Did I mention I am obsessed with this brand right now?!) I also picked up the Sorry Mom Tee in vintage black, same signature patch on the front, same bold logo graphic on the back, just with that perfectly faded, worn-in black wash that makes it feel like it has already been your favorite tee for years. And then there is the Sorry Mom Cropped Crew, which might be the piece I did not expect to love as much as I do. This one moves the Sorry Mom heart patch to the sleeve, so you are quite literally wearing your heart on your sleeve, and the front pouch pocket is stamped "Let's Walk Holding Hands," which felt like exactly the right sentiment the first time I read it. Mine is the vintage indigo colorway, though it also comes in vintage black, vintage red, and the same leopard print as the joggers. As I am writing this, I think I will order the Leopard too before it sells out!

What We Actually Have In Stock

The good news is we also picked up the Sorry Mom Tee in white, and this one is available now at The Periwinkle Shoppe. Same signature Sorry Mom heart patch on the chest, same bold logo graphic across the back, just in a clean white colorway that works with absolutely everything. If you want to try this brand for yourself right now, this is where to start.

Preview of What's Coming Soon
We love these new fall pieces and are counting down for these to arrive. They will be available shortly on our website.

The Lost and Found Wide Leg Pants are hand dyed, which means every single pair is completely one of one. No two pairs will ever look exactly alike, every swirl and fade is unique to the pair you receive. Cut from 100% cotton with a comfortable elastic waistband and a clean, pocket-free silhouette, these let the hand-dyed artwork be the entire point.
The Lost and Found Bell Sleeve Long Sleeve brings dramatic statement sleeves into the mix, also hand dyed and completely one of one, with an oversized front graphic and the collection's artwork stamped across the back.
And the Lost & Found M.Other Dress is the piece I am personally most excited about, a sweeping striped maxi with a front tie neckline and a graceful low open back that slips on without a single adjustment. This is the dress I already know I will wear barefoot at the beach and then somehow also out for the evening.
Why I Wanted to Carry This Brand
I am proud to be one of the first stockists bringing Happy Little Mother to East Texas, and honestly, that decision came from actually wearing the pieces myself first. This is a small brand built on real story and real intention, not mass production, and that shows in every piece, from the chain-stitched patches to the hand-dyed pattern work. Quantities are limited across the board, and once something sells, it is genuinely gone, no promise of a restock in the same colorway or run, which you now know firsthand from my own leopard set disappearing.
If Happy Little Mother has caught your eye, grab the white Sorry Mom Tee while it is here and keep an eye on our site and socials for the other pieces that will be landing soon. Sign up for our email list so you are the first to know the moment they arrive.
This is exactly what The Periwinkle Shoppe is about. We are always looking for the small, unique brands that do not show up everywhere else, the ones built by women, by moms, by people pouring real intention into what they make. Artisan-crafted, small-batch, story-driven, that is what draws us in every time, and Happy Little Mother is a perfect example of why we do what we do.
